Picture Book Illustration Workshop
This spring, the Bücherpiraten collected stories from children at playgrounds. These stories have been turned into a real picture book text. Now the text just needs some pictures.
Together with illustrator Barbara Steinitz, you’ll spend three days diving into the world of illustration and creating a unique visual world for the story. You’ll draw inspiration from the art forms of paper theater and street art: You’ll design, draw, and build paper sets and characters, which you’ll position in various locations in and around the Bücherpiraten house and photograph. This will result in exciting images born from the interplay of your imagination with the real environment.
The picture book will then be published on www.bilingual-picturebooks.org and gradually translated into over 80 languages.
