Faithful facsimiles and detailed reconstructions show how our writing system has evolved. In the process, children learn firsthand what it meant to be a merchant during the Hanseatic League era. After visiting the exhibition, a delicate touch is required: using a quill pen, ink, and a seal, they write their own letters, just like the merchants of yesteryear.
